Building code officials cannot be experts in all products over which they have jurisdiction, nor can they rely on their codes to regulate the use of new and innovative products and building materials. They depend on research reports from accredited product certification programs lead by licensed professionals.
ATI Evaluation Service was developed by Architectural Testing to meet this need. The ATI-ES Code Compliance Research Report (CCRR) provides the evidence, technical information, and professional evaluation that a building official relies upon to determine that a product, component, or method of construction meets the requirements of their building code.
Architectural Testing’s ANSI-accredited CCRR program provides accurate and thorough product evaluations by experienced and respected licensed professional engineers.
We are looking for an experienced Engineer to join our team in York, PA
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct research of building codes and related product standards
- Develop product evaluation criteria based upon research findings
- Coordinate product testing requirements
- Perform engineering analysis of product and material performance attributes
- Evaluate and audit manufacturers' quality control systems
- Assist in preparation of major proposals
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- U.S. Building Codes, applicable ASTM standards and other code referenced standards.
- Working knowledge of equipment, test methods, and applicable specifications associated with areas of responsibility
- Good research and technical writing skills
- Experience in building design and construction
- B.S. Degree in Engineering
- E.I.T. is desirable
