Job Title: BUILDING ENCLOSURE COMMISSIONING MANAGER

Location: LAKE FOREST, CA

Job Description and Responsibilities:

With 40 years in the business of testing, evaluating and consulting on building systems, products and components, Architectural Testing provides professional Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) services that our complimented by our unique testing capabilities for acoustical, structural, thermal, blast resistance, durability, energy, and air / waterproofing performance.

Architectural Testing, Inc. is seeking architects and engineers to join our Building Enclosure Professional Services Group.  Based out of our Lake Forest office, the Commissioning Manager will:
  • Perform all services within the Building Enclosure Commissioning process
  • Communicate with all members of the project team
  • Review architectural drawings, shop drawings and submittals pertaining to the building enclosure
  • Write building enclosure commissioning plans, specifications and testing protocols
  • Observe and document mock-up and field installations as well as associated functional performance testing
  • Develop new commissioning business both regionally and nationally
  • Travel throughout North America
 
Requirements:
  • Degree in Architecture or Engineering (architectural, civil, mechanical or structural)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in commercial construction
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time or more
  • Ability to develop and maintain good client relationships
  • A general level of understanding on the following building science / performance categories is required:  energy, acoustical, structural, air infiltration/exfiltration, vapor drive/diffusion, thermal, water drainage
 
Preferences:
  • Registered professional engineer or architect
  • Hospital, institutional or high performance building experience
  • LEED Accredited Professional 
  • Experience with BIM software
  • Trained in the use of WUFI or THERM
  • Registered Roof Consultant or Observer
  • Certified commissioning provider
  • Trained Thermographer
